This is a Must View What is Hot In-Place Asphalt Recycling Hot In-Place Asphalt Recycling (HIR) rehabilitates asphalt pavement by reusing the existing road surface on-site. The process heats, rejuvenates, mixes and repaves the existing asphalt directly on the road. The HIR hot milling process preserves aggregate gradation, enabling recycled mixes with >80% RAP. HIR reduces cost, new materials, hauling and emissions. HIR vs Conventional Mill & Pave Limitations of Conventional Mill and Pave Conventional mill and pave removes the existing surface by cold milling and replaces it with new hot mix asphalt. Cold milling alters aggregate which limits the the RAP content to 15–40% in conventional mixes. As a result, some reclaimed asphalt is downcycled rather than reused in new pavement surfaces.

- JP6000 Windrow Heating for Asphalt Recycling
See how JP6000 windrow heating raises recycled asphalt mix temperature to support uniform mixing, rejuvenation, workability and compaction. Step 3. Windrow Heater RETURN TO JP6000 The Windrow Heater Conventional HIR systems struggle to achieve consistent recycle mix temperatures >110C. This machine raises the temperature of the hot-milled windrow from 110°C to 140°C. How It Works This machine applies forced hot air to the windrow while continuously mixing it in a low-oxygen environment. This increases the windrow temperature from 110°C to 140°C and enables more consistent temperatures throughout the mix. Why It Works When heated to 140°C, the asphalt binder becomes more liquefied, allowing for better mixing with the rejuvenator. Continuous mixing during heating promotes uniform temperatures throughout the mix. The increase in mix temperature improves workability, smoothness, and compaction. Heats windrow in a low oxygen environment Increases windrow temperature to 140C Creates uniform mix tempertures Improves rejuvenation effectiveness Improves workabilty Improves smoothness Improves compaction Breakthrough HIR Technology This Windrow Heating Technology significantly enhances the quality and performance of Hot In-Place Asphalt Recycled Pavements, bringing them up to "new asphalt" standards.. - Asphalt Preheating for JP6000 HIR | JP Road-Tech
Learn how JP6000 recirculating hot-air preheaters soften existing asphalt pavement before hot milling and manage heating-system emissions. Step 1. Preheating RETURN TO JP6000 Preheating Breakthrough Through extensive research and development efforts we have resolved the heating efficiency, emissions control and and pavement quality problems that have previously hindered growth in the use of Hot In-Place Asphalt Recycling. Blue Smoke Problem Resolved Most HIR systems use open flame or infrared heating systems which can overheat and burn the surface, creating excessive blue smoke emissions, and greenhouse gases. Recirculating Hot Air System 1. The Low Oxygen Burner minimises oxidation. 2. Pollutants are incinerated 3. Hot Air heats surface, without overheating. 4. The Fan vacuums the air back up for reuse. 5. A portion of the Heated Air is exhausted. Features and Benefits We believe that cumulative effect of these advancements will result in HIR becoming a mainstream choice of pavement managers around the World. RETURN TO JP6000

Explore JP6000 hot in-place asphalt recycling performance, project experience and pavement testing across varied conditions. Proven Performance RETURN TO JP6000 Extensive Testing From 2019 to 2024, JP6000 trains were tested in 94 hot recycling projects across 10 provinces in China, covering 7 million square meters under diverse climatic and pavement conditions. - Hot Milling for Asphalt Recycling | JP6000
Learn how JP6000 hot milling removes softened asphalt pavement while preserving aggregate gradation for high recycled-content pavement mixes. Step 2. Hot Milling RETURN TO JP6000 The Hot Milling Machine The Hot Milling Machine removes the preheated and softened surface to a depth of 50 mm without crushing the aggregates. This process maintains the original gradation, enabling successful Hot In-Place (HIR) mix designs with 80% recycled content The Cold Milling Problem The removal of a cold, hard pavement surface requires maximum horsepower and brute force. This process crushes the existing aggregates during removal, which alters the gradation and limits the average recycled material content in surface pavements to 20% The Hot Milling Solution Preheating softens the surface, which eliminates aggregate crushing. The preservation of the original aggregate gradation allows for the creation of new asphalt equivalent HIR pavements that consist of 80% recycled materials and 20% new materials. Up to 50 mm depth Consistent depth control Avoids aggregate fracture Preserves original gradation Enables 80% recycled conte Features and Benefits We believe that cumulative effect of these advancements will result in HIR becoming a mainstream choice of pavement managers around the World. - Benefits of Hot In-Place Asphalt Recycling | JP Road-Tech
Explore how JP6000 hot in-place recycling reuses existing asphalt pavement and reduces new material requirements, trucking and traffic disruption. Benefits RETURN TO HOME RETURN TO JP6000 JP6000 HIR = Reuse and Reduce The JP6000 Hot In-Place Asphalt Recycling System, restores aged pavements to a “like new” condition while reducing energy consumption, carbon emissions, lane closure time and the use of non-renewable paving materials. 75% Reduction in New Paving Materials The JP6000 recycles and reuses 100% of the existing paving materials on-site, adding only about 20% new material compared to 80% with conventional remove-and-replace methods (mill and fill). This translates to just 6 loads of new material per lane kilometer, in contrast to 24 loads with mill and fill. 90% Reduction in Trucking Using the JP6000, the total number of truckloads for reclaimed and new paving materials is only 6, compared to 60 loads with the mill and fill method. This results in significant reductions in fuel consumption, carbon emissions, and traffic disruption. Doubles the Life of Paving Materials JP6000 is a Pavement Preservation method that doubles the life of high quality paving materials namely crushed aggregates and asphalt binder. Highways require constant maintenance The World Bank estimates that there are more than 25 million kilometers of paved roads worldwide. Each year, hundreds of thousands of kilometers of roads must have their 40 to 50 mm surfaces removed and replaced to keep them safe and functional.. New Materials = 57% of Carbon Emissions According to the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA), over half of the cradle-to-gate carbon emissions for paved roadways originate from the extraction, processing, and transportation of new paving materials to the asphalt plant before construction even begins.
